HangUpOnAbuse Call Centre Worker Campaign

Hello National HSE Committee Members

At our last meeting we discussed the call centre worker anti-abuse campaign that the Steelworkers were developing to bring awareness and action to the issue. Mike Lucas of Local 1944 (and a member of our committee), Jen Hassam from our New Media department and I reported on this.

Today is the launch day of the USW’s HangUpOnAbuse campaign. Please find a number of links to the video in French & English, to our website www.HangUpOnAbuse.ca and to a Toronto Star article which was front page of the Business Section in today’s paper.

Please do what you can to view, share, comment, sign petition, Tweet, Facebook, etc … Please circulate the links to your networks, committees, members… so it will continue to gain momentum. Post it on your Local Union websites & newsletters.

The media is really picking this up and we feel this Steelworker campaign will make a real difference to the health, safety and quality of life to call centre workers across Canada.
